New Delhi is the capital of India and a huge city and along with neighbouring Noida and Gurgaon(Gurugram)forms a bustling metropolis. The roads are fine though bustling with traffic. If you have an appetite for adventrure or urgent need you can easily hire a self drive car from many providers available. Besides self driven cars you could easily avails of various options of taxi services easily available in Delhi and in varanasi or most major cities.

The major providers are

  1. Zoom Cars Zoom Car provides self driven cars and SUV for most major cities in India including Delhi (not Varanasi). It can be booked via android or ios based app with multiple collection points throughout the city.
  2. Mylescars.com  They declare themselves to be India’s first Self-Drive service and exort control of the wheels and spin stories on roads.Providing 38+ car models and rent by the hour, day, week, or month. Services with their  fleet spread over 21 Cities.
  3. Revv.co.in- Another app based car rental service they claim to provide flexible rental options and a wide network that’s visible across most cities in India, and become the preferred choice for most Delhi NCR locals. Their fleet of cars come with All India Tourist Permits, so you needn’t worry about crossing state borders while you journey across India’s roads. With Revv, renting a self-drive car is affordable, easy and absolutely hassle-free having multiple options of payment and renting including long term.
  4. Ola: the app based taxi or ride sharing service also provides self driven cars having started recently from bangaluru and coming to Delhi/NCR pretty soon. Can again be booked via android or ios based applications as Ola Drive.
  5. Avis : As with other car renting service they provide their services via the web or apps. Well known foreign brand; a bit more expensive as compared to others.It is possible to make a reservation through “Avis India” website www.avis.co.in or mobile App.

    With Avis Flex, allows you to get a price benefit when you book for 7 days and above on select car models. Rentals start for as low as Rs 1250/day.

    Flex can be booked over the website only. We will soon be launching it on the “Avis India” mobile app and mobile site.

    All the cars are delivered and collected free of cost to the address specified at the time of making a booking. Note; cars will not be delivered to any public places like malls, metro station, etc. with Avis holding the right to cancel the booking in such cases. For self-drive, they only provide diesel cars.

Hertz: They also provide their services in some limited cities in India including Delhi. you can get further information from https://www.hertz.com.au/p/hire-a-car/indiaHertz’s minimum age to rent a car in New Delhi is 21. Some rentals, especially higher category vehicles (luxury, SUVs, etc.), may have an additional fee if you are under 25. Take time to go over Hertz’s policy to find out what the total cost is before you book.hertz rental car provided depends upon your needs and what activities you want to do in New Delhi. Compact or economy vehicles are great for short drives and are easier to park. If you are traveling with a bigger group, then a SUV or mid-size vehicle is going to have enough room for all of you and offer a more comfortable ride on longer commutes.You are required to have insurance before you rent a car from Hertz in India. Although many of the major card issuers, like MasterCard or Visa, provide some coverage, there are usually restrictions. For example, they may not cover your rental car if you book a larger or luxury vehicle.

    Hertz requires a deposit when you reserve your rental. Hertz will block the deposit on your credit once you book your car for your trip. Please note that the deposit may vary greatly based on the model and make of the car.

    Unless you are quite familiar with Delhi roads and Indian driving I would suggest getting a taxi or ride share; they are quite cheap and cost is almost similar to these app based car rental services.
