Domestic, International passenger flights to remain suspended
The Ministry of Home Affairs has extended the nationwide lockdown till 31 May and issued fresh guidelines. According to the guidelines, all international and domestic flights will continue to be banned except for medical and emergency purposes. Metro rail services and educational institutitions shall also remained closed throughout the country.

Earlier there were many rumours of domestic and international flights commnecing from May 18 2020 onward– Air India had refuted such speculation yesterday.
“The WhatsApp message circulating on social media platform is an internal email. The content of this massage is misunderstood and are being misrepresented in various media reports. Commencement of commercial domestic and international flights is not in purview of the airlines”, Air India said.
The airlines requested passengers to follow ministry of civil aviation, Air India twitter handles and respective websites for official announcement regarding the resumption of flight operations.
Cinema halls, hotels to remain closed till further notice.
Earlier NDMA had asked states to continue lockdown till 31 May
The NDMA in exercise of powers of the Disaster Management Act, 2005 directs Centre and State government to continue the lockdown measures up to 31 May to contain the spread of COVID-19. It has also asked the NEC to issue modified guidelines keeping in mind the need to resume economic activities.
All cinema halls, shopping malls, gymnasiums, swimming pools, entertainment parks, theatres, bars and auditoriums, assembly halls and similar places, shall continue to remain closed throughout the country till May 31. Hotels should also remain losed said the MHA while adding that restaurants can remain open for home delivery. Religious and social gathering also continue to be banned and places of worhsiop shall remain closed.
Furthermore in guidelines issued by the MHA, states and Union Territories will be allowed to demarcate red, orange and green zones keeping in mind the health ministry guidelines. Furthers, the state governments are also allowed to issue additional restrictions as deemed necessary.
So that is it for now. Brakes applied to all travels in near future.
